W 2025 r. drugi album Tears For Fears świętują 40-lecie swojego drugiego, multiplatynowego albumu „Songs From The Big Chair”. Grupa świętuje okrągłą rocznicę premiery jednego z najbardziej wpływowych albumów lat 80
Wydany pierwotnie 25 lutego 1985 r. krążek stał się światową sensacją – trafił na szczyt amerykańskiej listy przebojów i przyniósł pięć hitowych singli: „Mothers Talk”, „Shout”, „Everybody Wants To Rule The World”, „Head Over Heels” i „I Believe”. Płyta była idealnym połączeniem przebojowej przystępności z wyrazistymi tekstami, gitarową mocą i nowofalową innowacją.
Drugi album Tears for Fears to kwintesencja pop-rockowego brzmienia lat 80. Psychologiczna tematyka, dopracowane kompozycje i potężne, chóralne refreny oddawały poczucie utraty kontroli w przytłaczających czasach – Pitchfork
Wpływu tego albumu nie sposób przecenić – wciąż trafia do nowych słuchaczy. „Everybody Wants To Rule The World” doczekało się m.in. wersji Lorde w filmie „Igrzyska śmierci: W pierścieniu ognia”, pojawiło się też w „Strażnikach Galaktyki” (a także w atrakcji Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind w Walt Disney World), „Jak ukraść księżyc 4” czy w produkcji „Lego Batman: Film”, by wymienić tylko kilka przykładów.

Tears For Fears to jeden z kultowych zespołów lat 80. Grupa sprzedała ponad 30 milionów płyt i wylansowała takie single, jak „Shout”, „Everybody Wants To Rule The World”, „Mad World”, „Sowing The Seeds Of Love” czy „Woman In Chains”. Duet zadebiutował w 1983 roku płytą „The Hurting”, na której znalazły się hymny „Mad World”, „Change” i „Pale Shelter”. Drugi album „Songs from the Big Chair” (1985) zapewnił grupie nagrodę BRIT za „Everybody Wants to Rule the World” i pięciokrotnie pokrył się platyną, docierając na szczyt zestawienia Billboard Top 200. Ostatnią płytą Tears For Fears w latach 80. była „The Seeds of Love” (1989). Następnie ukazały się wydawnictwa „Elemental” (1993), „Raoul and the Kings of Spain” (1995) oraz „Everybody Loves a Happy Ending” (2004). W 2013 roku Tears For Fears wrócili z pierwszym nagraniem od dekady, coverem „Ready to Start” Arcade Fire.
Piosenki Tears for Fears były wykorzystywane jako sample przez takich artystów jak The Weeknd, David Guetta czy Kanye West, a swoje interpretacje przebojów duetu przedstawili chociażby Lorde, Adam Lambert i Disturbed.
