Ta unikalna kolekcja zawiera 148 utworów, z których ponad 100 nie było dotąd wydanych!

W wydawnictwie znalazła się również 52 stronicowa książeczka z unikalnymi i niepublikowanym zdjęciami z koncertów oraz obszerne opisy, które przygotował Wesley Stace.

Wydawnictwu temu towarzyszyć będzie wznowienie wydanego w 2002 roku winylowego boksu “The Bootleg Series Volume 5” na trzech płytach winylowych z 64 stronicową książeczką.

Pierwsze tournée Rolling Thunder Revue rozpoczęło się 30 października 1975 roku i zakończyło się 8 grudnia koncertem Night of the Hurricane w Madison Square Garden w Nowym Jorku.

Występy, które trwały czasami ponad cztery godziny zapowiadane były z niewielkim wyprzedzeniem. Kilka dni przed koncertem w miejscu, gdzie zaplanowano występ pojawiali się ludzie z ulotkami reklamowymi, sale wynajmowano pod przybranym nazwiskiem a artyści, którzy brali udział w koncercie od razu po jego zakończeniu ruszali dalej. Muzycy na trasie zmieniali się, na miejsce tych, którym występ uniemożliwiał harmonogram pojawiali się inni, którzy akurat dysponowali czasem.

Dylan zaprezentował tu m.in premierowe utwory przygotowane na nadchodzący album “Desire”, niezwykłe interpretacje swoich starszych utworów oraz niespodzianki w postaci coverów.

Na trasie do Dylana dołączyła grupa przyjaciół, w tym: T Bone Burnett, Mick Ronson, Joan Baez, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Bobby Neuwirth, Scarlett Rivera, Ronee Blakley, Steven Soles, David Mansfield, Rob Stoner, Howie Wyeth, Luther Rix. Allen Ginsberg oraz Joni Mitchell. Bob Dylan, wytrawny lider, zdołał zabrać muzyków z różnych środowisk i często odmiennej wrażliwości i stworzyć z nich doskonale zgrany zespół.
